Rolando Reynardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd match minute, Newpi Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Erlantz to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jakub Waselenczuk in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dionisio Abaurre saved Newpi Academy from getting behind. Dionisio Abaurre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jack Saunders in the 26th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jakub Waselenczuk got free with Dionisio Abaurre in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 31 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Wincenty Kochowski. 39 minutes into the match, Newpi Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Jakub Waselenczuk came free, but Dionisio Abaurre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. FC Lugano's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
