With an all-out effort, Newpi Academy's Vito Vidal threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edgard Quintun, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 11th minute Edgard Quintun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Newpi Academy defense, Michel Neves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dionisio Abaurre. The Newpi Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dionisio Abaurre should have stopped the shot. Newpi Academy's Dionisio Abaurre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão de Queirós in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Simão de Queirós nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dionisio Abaurre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Erlantz in the 27th minute of play forced CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Vito Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st match minute, Newpi Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Betadur to maneuver through the defense. Newpi Academy's Dionisio Abaurre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Totti in the 32nd minute of play. With a little luck, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Vito Vidal got control of the ball when Julio Txordon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michel Neves to make the kick off. If Michel Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 55 played minutes Newpi Academy got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Santiago. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 56th minute, but Dionisio Abaurre got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Newpi Academy hanging dry this time. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Neves got free with Dionisio Abaurre in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th match minute, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Neiva to maneuver through the defense. If Michel Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michel Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Dionisio Abaurre made a huge save. A collision led to Newpi Academy getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Maximiliano Santiago hit a great ball. Michel Neves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Dionisio Abaurre skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Vito Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Quintun, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Edgard Quintun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vito Vidal having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Thiago Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Newpi Academy booed when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorian Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremias Cuartio's late challenge caught a CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremias Cuartio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Newpi Academy getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Jeremias Cuartio hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Thiago Pereira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Newpi Academy's Dionisio Abaurre didn't even have to move. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Newpi Academy lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
