After 21 minutes of play, England's Caelan Hayes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gökhan Sehhar was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to England getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Caelan Hayes hit a great ball. Khalid Kennedy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atilla Kağan Reşit in the 25th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, England's goal looked a bit too open when Atilla Kağan Reşit came free, but Khalid Kennedy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yılmaz Veli got free with Khalid Kennedy in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vânderson Pitta took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Khalid Kennedy. Khalid Kennedy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Yılmaz Veli's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Khalid Kennedy skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, England's Issac Dawson got a free kick in the 41st minute. Kyle Cox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Gökhan Sehhar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Micah Macdonald was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. England's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Balıkesirspor the free kick. After 44 played minutes England got a freekick which was hit by Micah Macdonald. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yılmaz Veli to make the kick off.
