When Almiro Peixoto fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nascente do Leça's protests and gave Almiro Peixoto a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Nascente do Leça got a freekick which was hit by Almiro Peixoto. After having played for 28 minutes, Micah Macdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fábio Figueiras hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Laureano Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Cox, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Nascente do Leça getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Sérgio Barcelos hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as England's Kyle Cox slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Laureano Coelho. That made the score 0-4 after 60 minutes of play. Alípio Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Khalid Kennedy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alípio Oliveira in the 72nd minute of the match. Laureano Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Cox, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Almiro Peixoto was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 77th minute, Almiro Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ademar Tinoco got his second yellow card in the match during the 79th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
