Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nils-Erik Askelöf was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Askelöf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 24th minute of play forced Southern Thrashers's goalkeeper Nils-Erik Askelöf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nils-Erik Askelöf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. Nils-Erik Askelöf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 65th minute. David Eikelkamp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Nils-Erik Askelöf made a huge save. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
