The supporters of Belgium booed when Maritek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filippo Lucente didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferruccio Zarillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 70thth minute of the game Felice Tacco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgium's Casper Claes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maritek FC made a substitution. Federico Ondino replaced Felice Tacco. In the 73rd minute of the match Maritek FC got a corner. Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredo Toschi ran over to the corner to take the kick. A sloppy throw-in by Filippo Lucente in the 75th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Belgium's Sander Dermaut. In the 77th minute Alfredo Toschi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lenny Clocheret kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Alfredo Toschi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Casper Claes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Casper Claes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Belgium's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
