Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Viriato Moura took the kick off in the first half of the match. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heigo Luiga in the 2nd minute of play. In the 3rd match minute, Matos Velhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durval Meira to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Matos Velhos getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Tord Böcklund hit a great ball. In the 5th minute of the match Felipe Barreto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mike van Kampen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Matos Velhos's Heigo Luiga in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Portugal's goalie prevented a goal. If Viriato Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Matos Velhos's Henrique Candal. But to his dismay, Henrique Candal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Matos Velhos getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Durval Meira hit a great ball. With a little luck, Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen got control of the ball when Rodolfo Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd minute Fabricio Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike van Kampen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Portugal's Felipe Barreto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mike van Kampen. Mike van Kampen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Matos Velhos were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Heigo Luiga took the corner. The corner led to Matos Velhos's Adalberto Peres getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Matos Velhos's Heigo Luiga. But to his dismay, Heigo Luiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Portugal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Heigo Luiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Matos Velhos's players had a chance to rest. Heigo Luiga made a great header on Matos Velhos's corner, it was just that Portugal's Wilson Amorim managed to reach the ball for a save. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jiang Qing Lin's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henrique Candal went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The Portugal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Matos Velhos were winning 2-3.

Henrique Candals short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Wilson Amorim to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Heigo Luiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Matos Velhos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Felipe Barreto was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Pimentel made a great header on Portugal's corner, it was just that Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Henrique Candal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matos Velhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Henrique Candal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. In the 73rd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. Lee Beckford came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wilson Amorim could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Bruno Bastos got a free kick in the 79th minute. If Sabino Vilhena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolomeu Dias in the 90th minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Beckford. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Adalberto Peres tried to sneak it across the goal line.
