Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Salamanca UDS's Joaquim Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The supporters of Salamanca UDS booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albin Holweck didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Salamanca UDS's Joaquim Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saip Baltaş having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquim Carvalho in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. Kamel Espitalier made a great header on Salamanca UDS's corner, it was just that Germany's Tommy Kahn managed to reach the ball for a save. With an all-out effort, Salamanca UDS's Tommy Kahn threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joaquim Carvalho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Malte Schiele fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Malte Schiele a yellow card for diving instead. After 25 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Malte Schiele. Kamel Espitalier's shot from long distance in the 26th minute was not bad at all, but Germany's Tommy Kahn knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. If Kamel Espitalier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Holmstedt's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. The audience was convinced that David Holmstedt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. In the 35th minute, Tugay Okkan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Salamanca UDS booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Janik Vogt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Saip Baltaş showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim Carvalho to strike the kick off in the second half. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Carvalho in the 53rd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Salamanca UDS getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Kamel Espitalier hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Linus Schwerner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kamel Espitalier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the game, Kamel Espitalier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Salamanca UDS's Joaquim Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 63rd match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Dreifuss to maneuver through the defense. When Salamanca UDS's Joaquim Carvalho in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopold Heinloo couldn't finish the play. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Carvalho in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
