Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Perfecto in the 38th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Major Barna got free with Robustiano Gelmiro in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Rodolfo Perfecto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fodor Daniel should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antal Valentin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Balazs Lajos in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robustiano Gelmiro saved Sotelo AFC from getting behind. In the 53rd minute of the match Hungary got a corner. Sotelo AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Robustiano Gelmiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Balazs Lajos's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. The supporters of Hungary booed when Sotelo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Quentin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
