Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zaccheo Andolina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edvīns van der Sar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zaccheo Andolina went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Porziano Marchitelli in the 54th minute of play forced FC Alytus United's goalkeeper Edvīns van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Italy's Zena Busacca got a free kick in the 56th minute. FC Alytus United's Edvīns van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 60th minute of play. Vilmer Röd's late challenge caught a Italy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vilmer Röd helped the player get up and apologised. In the 97th minute, Vilmer Röd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Italy were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Alytus United for a fine match.
