The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickard Nilsson in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Edvard Gunnarsson in the 7 minute of the game. Zaccheo Andolina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dick Melander having to make a save. Dick Melander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 8th minute of the match. Gösta Granström got a throw-in 10 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Torgny Forsman. Niklas Bäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Vittori having to interfere. Dick Melander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 19th minute of the match. Italy's Sigfrido Auletta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dick Melander in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Italy booed when Thames Ironworks FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niklas Bäck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torgny Forsman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dick Melander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 33rd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Dick Melander successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niklas Bäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Niklas Bäck ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavio Vittori was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rickard Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The Italy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Thames Ironworks FC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Niklas Bäck made the kick off in the second half. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torgny Forsman in the 50th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 50 minutes, Niklas Bäck took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Flavio Vittori to make any attempt to save it. Dick Melander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dick Melander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Thames Ironworks FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Dag Mårtensson hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Rickard Nilsson came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thames Ironworks FC were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after Italy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edvard Gunnarsson took the corner. Edvard Gunnarsson made a great header on Thames Ironworks FC's corner, it was just that Italy's Flavio Vittori managed to reach the ball for a save. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's goal looked a bit too open when Porziano Marchitelli came free, but Dick Melander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dick Melander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Zaccheo Andolina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dick Melander. Thames Ironworks FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zaccheo Andolina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. Torgny Forsman took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Chants of Thames Ironworks FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Italy had held the ball for most of the match.
