Zaccheo Andolina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costin Jecu having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Liviu Gogu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavio Vittori was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When Ioan Buhuș fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored White&Blue Lions-Stiinta-'s protests and gave Ioan Buhuș a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to White&Blue Lions-Stiinta- getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. When Zaccheo Andolina came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zaccheo Andolina couldn't finish the play. Italy made a substitution. Costin Jecu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
