With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Helge Ekman saved Watford FC from getting behind. Helge Ekman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 10th minute of the match. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Watford FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Frank Sachs was slow to take the kick. During this time Germany's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Frank Sachs hit a great ball. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Birger Bergendahl went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 21 minutes into the game, Germany's Frank Sachs nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Helge Ekman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Watford FC's Olov Ekberg got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Helge Ekman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 26th minute of play. Frank Sachs scored 1-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Helge Ekman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Albin Holweck might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Helge Ekman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albin Holweck ran back to his position shaking his head. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Frank Sachs scored 1-3 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Helge Ekman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 43rd minute of the game Jonny Bohlin made a throw-in which Olov Ekberg played forward. Wictor Hedbom made in the 46th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Germany's Linus Schwerner. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albin Holweck during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Albin Holweck kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Sachs to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Germany's Albin Holweck ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Helge Ekman. Helge Ekman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. A collision led to Watford FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Valdemar Wennerquist hit a great ball. Helge Ekman made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Frank Sachs sent off a good shot on target. Helge Ekman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 58th minute of the match. Frank Sachs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Helge Ekman made a huge save. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Helge Ekman having to make a save. Helge Ekman was a little too slow when Albin Holweck got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 1-6. In the 89th minute, Malte Schiele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Helge Ekman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Germany could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Watford FC throughout the match.
