Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cléber Catarinense got the match started through his kick off. Loris Karius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. 2 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Loris Karius. Sport Club Abrilense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gijsbert ter Kruimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Rüdy, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Manole Ciocârlan kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loris Karius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the match, Sport Club Abrilense's Dan Rüdy broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Loris Karius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 14th minute of the match. Loris Karius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Dan Rüdy sent off a good shot on target. Sport Club Abrilense's Loris Karius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 19th minute of play. Cléber Catarinense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. In the 22nd minute, Wim Wilmes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Loris Karius was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Enol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Sport Club Abrilense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Perälä didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Cléber Catarinense recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers. Cléber Catarinense showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. In the 32nd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loris Karius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. Loris Karius came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. 46 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Loris Karius. Sport Club Abrilense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The Sport Club Abrilense players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 1-4.
The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Loris Karius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Israel Edorta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Loris Karius in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute, Severino Bruggink had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Mathijn Doctor fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Netherlands's protests and gave Mathijn Doctor a yellow card for diving instead. Sport Club Abrilense made a substitution. German Estevez replaced Severino Bruggink. When Dan Rüdy came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Sport Club Abrilense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Rüdy couldn't finish the play. Sport Club Abrilense's Loris Karius proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Club Abrilense from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Sport Club Abrilense's Loris Karius got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Sport Club Abrilense's German Estevez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Estevez in the 96th minute of play. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sport Club Abrilense throughout the match.
