Costica Vladimiri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harvey Davies having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Olaru in the 9th minute of play forced FC Bal op het Dak's goalkeeper Harvey Davies to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carol Stinga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Kjellman in the 12th minute of play. Harvey Davies made an important save on a dangerous shot by Costica Vladimiri in the 13th minute. In the 17th minute of the game Vasile Ciumak made a throw-in which Sanda Cutov played forward. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Marick Brunt managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Bal op het Dak's supporters rose to their feet, but Marick Brunt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sanda Cutov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Harvey Davies made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Joop Meder in the 45th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Romania's Rasvan Cristescu. In the 48th minute, Romania's Vasile Ciumak dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dan Kjellman was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dan Kjellman in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carol Stinga saved Romania from getting behind. Sanda Cutov might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harvey Davies. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romania's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sanda Cutov in the 86th minute. The corner led to Romania's Octavian Vaduva getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Martijn August received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carol Stinga came out and tried to block the shot, but Martijn August slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 88th minute. When FC Bal op het Dak's Martijn August in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Chants of FC Bal op het Dak echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Romania had held the ball for most of the match.
