Chris Nygaard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robbie Southgate having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Bertram Svenningsen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denmark's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertram Svenningsen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robbie Southgate breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Chris Nygaard hit a great ball. Pedro Luís do Valle scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keld Paulsen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 23 minutes, Pedro Luís do Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independente F.C. Limeira and the Denmark players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pedro Luís do Valle hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Robbie Southgate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikkel Wulff, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Mathias Ludvigsen's late challenge caught a Independente F.C. Limeira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mathias Ludvigsen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Ludvigsen to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute of the match Amador Quinten sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keld Paulsen skillfully saved the ball. Chris Nygaard struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Robbie Southgate didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. The throw-in from Severo Dubardo in the 35th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Denmark's Lars Steen. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chris Nygaard got free with Robbie Southgate in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dionisio Rik in the 36th minute of the match. Dionisio Rik took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Denmark's Olav Graversen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Severo Dubardo, made in the 41st minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Frank Teixeira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keld Paulsen was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. When Chris Nygaard came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Nygaard couldn't finish the play. After the first half Independente F.C. Limeira were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chris Nygaard was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 51st minute of play forced Independente F.C. Limeira's goalkeeper Robbie Southgate to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denmark's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Frank Teixeira scored to the left of an out of position Keld Paulsen, making the score, 1-3. 57 minutes in the game Severo Dubardo did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Pedro Luís do Valle. In the 59th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Nygaard to maneuver through the defense. Frank Teixeira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Keld Paulsen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Frank Teixeira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Keld Paulsen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Dorian Linhares fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independente F.C. Limeira's protests and gave Dorian Linhares a yellow card for diving instead. Dorian Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Theis Winther hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Frank Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Denmark booed when Independente F.C. Limeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus França didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denmark's Olav Graversen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Severo Dubardo, made in the 77th minute of the game. Bertram Svenningsen kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Denmark's Chris Nygaard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robbie Southgate narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aníbal Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Chris Nygaard notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Independente F.C. Limeira's Robbie Southgate. Robbie Southgate was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Independente F.C. Limeira had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
