If Adam Olaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ant Man in the 7th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Carol Stinga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Costica Vladimiri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Romania fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 13 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Ant Man came free, but Carol Stinga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
