The audience was convinced that Dionisio Rik's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Khalid Kennedy was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Robbie Southgate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Cox, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The supporters of England booed when Independente F.C. Limeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorian Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Limeira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robbie Southgate should have stopped the shot. Frank Teixeira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 39th playminute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kyle Cox in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robbie Southgate saved Independente F.C. Limeira from getting behind.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kyle Cox to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Dorian Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khalid Kennedy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cooper Thompson was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 58 minutes into the match. Khalid Kennedy had in the 59thth minute some difficulties stopping Amador Quinten's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Independente F.C. Limeira's goalkeeper Robbie Southgate had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Issac Dawson. Kyle Cox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robbie Southgate having to interfere. Seth Young hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. If Caelan Hayes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Khalid Kennedy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Dorian Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khalid Kennedy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
