Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Jonckers having to interfere. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pino Van Hinnendaels, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Sven-Edvin Viklund hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Henk Jonckers. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Henk Jonckers made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Viklund in the 22nd minute of play. Henk Jonckers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lars Meesters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Jonckers having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, KV Schoonwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernt Tielemans to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute Alek De Hondt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in KV Schoonwater fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a precise shot to the right of Henk Jonckers. KV Schoonwater's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Henk Jonckers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 74th minute of play. Henk Jonckers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Eikelkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, KV Schoonwater's Sem Roekeloos got a free kick in the 76th minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Henk Jonckers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 79 played minutes KV Schoonwater got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Edvin Viklund. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind KV Schoonwater's goalkeeper Henk Jonckers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 83rdth minute of the game Wim Wilmes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KV Schoonwater's Henk Jonckers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arnout Reekers was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sven-Edvin Viklund showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 87 minute of play. There was no doubt that Netherlands were the better team. Netherlands's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
