In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Graneros's goalkeeper Attilio Perna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Attilio Perna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Victorino Tallia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feliberto Otsando in the 37th minute of play.
