A collision led to FC Ruscova getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Aurel Trifan hit a great ball. Helmuth Duckadam made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 7th minute. 8 minutes into the match, FC Ruscova's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Helmuth Duckadam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Italy's Zaccheo Andolina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Helmuth Duckadam narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Italy's Siricio Liotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Aurel Trifan, made in the 14th minute of the game. Italy's Zaccheo Andolina got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 18th minute of the match, Siricio Liotta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Helmuth Duckadam saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Deodato Magliozzi hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zachary Snaza, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a rather tough play, Italy's Eliseo Cutri got a free kick in the 26th minute. The throw-in from Aurel Trifan in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Helmuth Duckadam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Zaccheo Andolina notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of FC Ruscova's Helmuth Duckadam. Helmuth Duckadam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 37th minute Italy were awarded a corner. Sigfrido Auletta went to the cornerflag to take it. With a little luck, FC Ruscova's Helmuth Duckadam got control of the ball when Zaccheo Andolina tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Porziano Marchitelli took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Helmuth Duckadam to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zaccheo Andolina to make the kick off. Helmuth Duckadam came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Italy's Siricio Liotta. But to his dismay, Siricio Liotta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 54th minute Porziano Marchitelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmuth Duckadam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute of the match Italy got a corner. FC Ruscova's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sigfrido Auletta ran over to the corner to take the kick. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Marina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 60th minute of play forced FC Ruscova's goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Ruscova's Helmuth Duckadam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 65th minute of play. Zachary Snaza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Flavio Vittori made a huge save. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Helmuth Duckadam read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Zachary Snaza came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Italy defense, Zachary Snaza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavio Vittori. The Italy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Vittori should have stopped the shot. Helmuth Duckadam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, FC Ruscova's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Helmuth Duckadam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Porziano Marchitelli in the 84th minute of play forced FC Ruscova's goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. Guiscardo Davide made a great header on Italy's corner, it was just that FC Ruscova's Helmuth Duckadam managed to reach the ball for a save. Helmuth Duckadam came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Italy's Adriano Curto. But to his dismay, Adriano Curto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. There was no doubt that Italy were the better team. Italy's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
