The corner led Werneck FC - DMZ's Joélson Amaral to fire away a dangerous shot which Arnout Reekers despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Felix Donciu made a huge save. In the 26th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Donciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Mathijn Doctor. Joélson Amaral was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Felix Donciu threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fu Ting Nan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Felix Donciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Eikelkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Donciu having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
