The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Switzerland getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Rodrigo von Känel hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the game, Mihály Szikora cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Hias Nüssli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 82 minutes into the match, Tibor Dudics notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Switzerland's Hias Nüssli. Hias Nüssli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mihály Szikora hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tibor Dudics during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Gábor Kádár got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hias Nüssli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihály Szikora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 97 played minutes Leeds got a freekick which was hit by Imre Selymes. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Switzerland lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
