A beautiful save bye Desportivo da Huíla's goalie prevented a goal. 5 minutes into the game, Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Balduíno Sá made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 8 played minutes Desportivo da Huíla got a freekick which was hit by Alda Polido. Chris Nygaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Balduíno Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Balduíno Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Nygaard, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Vasques in the 15th minute of play. Hector Guedes made in the 25th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Hipólito Areosa immediately put the ball in play. When Desportivo da Huíla's Paulo Vasques in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 37th minute of the match, Paulo Vasques tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Keld Paulsen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hector Guedes's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hector Guedes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th minute, Hector Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bertram Svenningsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Vasques in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keld Paulsen saved Denmark from getting behind. After the first half Denmark were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chris Nygaard to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olav Graversen to maneuver through the defense. Hector Guedes made in the 54th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Emílio Chivukuvuku immediately put the ball in play. When Paulo Vasques came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Desportivo da Huíla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Vasques couldn't finish the play. After 60 minutes of play, Desportivo da Huíla's Paulo Vasques made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Keld Paulsen was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 62 minutes of play, Desportivo da Huíla's Hipólito Areosa made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Keld Paulsen was left in no man's land by his defense there! 65 minutes into the match, Desportivo da Huíla's Paulo Vasques sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keld Paulsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 69 played minutes Desportivo da Huíla got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Chivukuvuku. Olav Graversen might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Balduíno Sá. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Olav Graversen ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bertram Svenningsen in the 74th minute of play forced Desportivo da Huíla's goalkeeper Balduíno Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 75 minutes Desportivo da Huíla's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Chris Nygaard who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Desportivo da Huíla's Afonso Pereira got a free kick in the 77th minute. Bertram Svenningsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Balduíno Sá having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Mikkel Wulff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hipólito Areosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Desportivo da Huíla were victorious despite being under pressure from Denmark for much of the match.
