After a defensive mix-up in Denmark's zone, Afonso Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal and Afonso Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 7 minutes into the game, Paulo Vasques recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Keld Paulsen. Paulo Vasques showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Hortêncio Zamora hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the match, Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hipólito Areosa. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Bertram Svenningsen hit a great ball. After having played for 31 minutes, Hipólito Areosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desportivo da Huíla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hipólito Areosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Bendtsen to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Hortêncio Zamora sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Denmark's Keld Paulsen didn't even have to move. Balduíno Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olav Graversen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bertram Svenningsen in the 39th minute of play forced Desportivo da Huíla's goalkeeper Balduíno Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Bendtsen charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simon Bendtsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Simon Bendtsen kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44thth minute of the game Paulo Vasques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Denmark's Keld Paulsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Vasques in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Keld Paulsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Vasques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lars Steen's late challenge caught a Desportivo da Huíla's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lars Steen helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Desportivo da Huíla booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars Steen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the game, Alda Polido was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Desportivo da Huíla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Denmark the free kick. Alda Polido hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The supporters of Desportivo da Huíla booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars Steen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute of the game Hector Guedes made a throw-in which Hipólito Areosa played forward. Chris Nygaard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Balduíno Sá made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Hector Guedes in the 79th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Denmark's Lars Steen. In the 80th minute, Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Balduíno Sá. Balduíno Sá yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Chris Nygaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Balduíno Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Desportivo da Huíla's Paulo Vasques got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bertram Svenningsen hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 89th minute of the game was made by Hector Guedes with Hipólito Areosa as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. When Desportivo da Huíla's Paulo Vasques in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Denmark's goalie prevented a goal. Bertram Svenningsen hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Desportivo da Huíla supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Denmark's performance. The match ended with a win for Denmark.
