In the 18th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yao Yun Qian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yao Yun Qian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 19th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Notes in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Deportivo Alianza Lima. getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Estebe Constante hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Gust Ennemans in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s Christiano Aguiar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Yao Yun Qian in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Estebe Constante, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Estebe Constante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Estebe Constante in the 39th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. After 69 minutes of play, Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s Estebe Constante made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 76th minute, Wim Wilmes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yao Yun Qian was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. In the 81st minute of the match Estebe Constante sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Deportivo Alianza Lima. booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gust Ennemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yao Yun Qian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 89th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Netherlands were the better team. Netherlands's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
