The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Virgilijus Zabulis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. LFK Spyris were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Germany's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Virgilijus Zabulis took the corner. Virgilijus Zabulis made a great header on LFK Spyris's corner, it was just that Germany's Tommy Kahn managed to reach the ball for a save. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Albin Holweck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Konstantinas Malevičius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aldas Alvinskas got free with Tommy Kahn in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Aldas Alvinskas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tommy Kahn. That made the score 2-0 in the 36 minute of play. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. Konstantinas Malevičius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantinas Malevičius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Germany booed when LFK Spyris was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldas Andužis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 72 minutes, Virgilijus Šemeta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LFK Spyris and the Germany players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to LFK Spyris getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Virgilijus Šemeta hit a great ball. With a little luck, LFK Spyris's Konstantinas Malevičius got control of the ball when Frank Sachs tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of LFK Spyris booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Stieler didn't get a good kick on the ball. LFK Spyris walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
