In the 19th minute Rafa Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Walid Prévost was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taliban FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. In the 46th minute, Walid Prévost hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when El Boudiaf stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kristián Pražan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 51st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto Falcón during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 56 played minutes Taliban FC got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Falcón. With a little luck, Taliban FC's Kristián Pražan got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kristián Pražan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 71st minute of the match. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from El Boudiaf in the 72nd minute of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafa Arantes in the 78th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mohamed Abrika scored 2-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Taliban FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Kristián Pražan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
