The supporters of Farroupilha FC booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertram Svenningsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Ronaldinho Mandrak shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keld Paulsen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Doni Koehler hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 19th minute of play forced Farroupilha FC's goalkeeper Sandro Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Carlos Trancoso charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Carlos Trancoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Farroupilha FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Chris Nygaard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sandro Peixoto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Keld Paulsen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 44 minutes into the game, Simon Bendtsen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Farroupilha FC the free kick. In the 45th minute, Simon Bendtsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Keld Paulsen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edu Gomes's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. 48 minutes into the game, Farroupilha FC's Edu Gomes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keld Paulsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Edu Gomes made the kick off in the second half. Kléber de Toledo's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kléber de Toledo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Denmark booed when Farroupilha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 minutes of play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sandro Peixoto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kléber de Toledo was shown his second yellow card after 60 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 62nd minute, Chris Nygaard made a precise shot to the right of Sandro Peixoto. Farroupilha FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 66 minutes into the game, Chris Nygaard recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sandro Peixoto. Chris Nygaard showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. After 71 minutes Farroupilha FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Chris Nygaard who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Denmark's Olav Graversen to a score. 2-4 in the 71st minute. Doni Koehler's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Steen to maneuver through the defense. Doni Koehler hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, Chris Nygaard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Farroupilha FC's Sandro Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 83rd minute of play. Chris Nygaard in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sandro Peixoto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mikkel Wulff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Peixoto having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Kenn Skou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Décio de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Denmark left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Farroupilha FC.
