In the 19th minute of the match Frank Sachs sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Heiner Studer skillfully saved the ball. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manolito Baumann struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1. FC Union Weberei. If Manolito Baumann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of 1. FC Union Weberei booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albin Holweck didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Union Weberei's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Heiner Studer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heiner Studer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Louie Anderjoli took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 66 minutes into the match, Frank Sachs notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of 1. FC Union Weberei's Heiner Studer. Heiner Studer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Casimir Wickihalter's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 70thth minute of the game Casimir Wickihalter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 74th minute Nico Gruenewald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Gruenewald in the 76th minute of play. Nico Gruenewald took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Owain Wollenmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Heiner Studer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albin Holweck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 1. FC Union Weberei's Heiner Studer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save 1. FC Union Weberei from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Germany's Heiner Studer threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Frank Sachs, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the 1. FC Union Weberei players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
