In the 17th minute, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mustafa Barış Özaktuğ. Mustafa Barış Özaktuğ yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Mustafa Barış Özaktuğ in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquin Jobo was the one to do the kick off. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Tuncer Atlıhan sent off a good shot on target. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remo Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute Remo Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mustafa Barış Özaktuğ prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 94 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquin Jobo. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remo Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Netherlands fully deserved thier win.
