In the 8th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kléber Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inter de São Paulo's Kléber Salles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Inter de São Paulo from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Bakos Endre hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Loureiro in the 21st minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inter de São Paulo were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Hungary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marquinhos Botelho took the corner. At last the ball reached Laércio Loureiro at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Hungary. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Laércio Loureiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal and Laércio Loureiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Hungary's Kléber Salles threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Major Barna, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Antal Valentin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kléber Salles firmly grabbed it by the left post. Falcão de Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Falcão de Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Hungary booed when Inter de São Paulo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Balazs Lajos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Major Barna's late challenge caught a Inter de São Paulo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Major Barna helped the player get up and apologised.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antal Valentin to strike the kick off in the second half. Inter de São Paulo's Kléber Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 59th minute of play. Inter de São Paulo's Laércio Loureiro got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Inter de São Paulo made a substitution. Milosz Korytkowski replaced Léo Simão. 63 minutes into the match, Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laércio Loureiro. Kléber Salles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gerson Coelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fodor Daniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Inter de São Paulo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marquinhos Botelho in the 83rd minute. Inter de São Paulo's Kléber Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takacs Tibor in the 85th minute of play. When Hungary's Balazs Lajos in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
