In the 3rd match minute, Kanarinci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ostoja Martinović to maneuver through the defense. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Lars Steen came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lars Steen couldn't finish the play. If Bertram Svenningsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bjarne Kirkegaard to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Vlatko Jurela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kanarinci's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Denmark the free kick. After a rather tough play, Kanarinci's Vlatko Jurela got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Steen in the 30th minute of play forced Kanarinci's goalkeeper Vlaho Modrah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Denmark's corner Chris Nygaard fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vlaho Modrah quite easily take care of the ball. In the 33rd minute, Radoslav Ivanković made a precise shot to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 37th match minute, Kanarinci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ostoja Martinović to maneuver through the defense. Bertram Svenningsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Vlaho Modrah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vlaho Modrah was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. With a little luck, Denmark's Keld Paulsen got control of the ball when Dragutin Vasiljević tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dragutin Vasiljević to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Denmark defense, Radoslav Ivanković kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Keld Paulsen. The Denmark fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Keld Paulsen should have stopped the shot. If Chris Nygaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Bertram Svenningsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bertram Svenningsen got free with Vlaho Modrah in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chris Nygaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Vlaho Modrah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kanarinci made a substitution. Petar Krile replaced Dragutin Vasiljević. Lars Steen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chris Nygaard in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vlaho Modrah prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 81 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Radoslav Ivanković came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petar Krile in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petar Krile in the 85th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Petar Krile's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keld Paulsen was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Dragišić during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bruno Dragišić kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. A collision led to Kanarinci getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Vjekoslav Gojak hit a great ball. Lars Steen struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Vlaho Modrah didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Kanarinci were victorious despite being under pressure from Denmark for much of the match.
