Gabriel Ascaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Calisto in the 24th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Erwan Carnot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Днепр ФК's supporters rose to their feet, but Erwan Carnot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Ascaso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaspar Calisto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ralf Rapp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 50th minute of the match, but Gabriel Ascaso made a huge save. In the 64th minute of the match, Dmitriy Bogaenko tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gabriel Ascaso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ralf Rapp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Spain's Carles Cherro was substituted for Omar Toledo. Vladislav Maksimychev was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 92 minutes into the match, Днепр ФК's goal looked a bit too open when Carles Cherro came free, but Vladislav Maksimychev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Spain fully deserved thier win.
