Spectators: 51 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Juan Mondaca made the kick off which started today's match. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Mondaca, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Juan Mondaca might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juan Mondaca ran back to his position shaking his head. 11 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anacleto Dessauer. In the 12th minute Daniel Pimentel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ksawery Witkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Bruno Bastos got a free kick in the 17th minute. The long shot by Seran Turres in the 18th minute really tested Wilson Amorim's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. Portugal's Felipe Barreto quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jasone Basualto, made in the 28th minute of the game. Magallanes's Juan Mondaca got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute of the match Magallanes got a corner. Portugal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Seran Turres ran over to the corner to take the kick. 40 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Mondaca. Juan Mondaca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ksawery Witkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 45th minute of the match. When Alejandro Campbell fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Magallanes's protests and gave Alejandro Campbell a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Magallanes got a freekick which was hit by Alejandro Campbell. The supporters of Magallanes booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 48 minutes, Juan Mondaca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Magallanes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Mondaca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Mondaca in the 54th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ksawery Witkowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Viriato Moura in the 55th minute. Juan Mondaca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st match minute, Magallanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rito Encina to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Juan Mondaca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Magallanes's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Mondaca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Magallanes made a substitution. Christiano Soffia replaced Alejandro Campbell. Magallanes made a substitution. In the 72nd minute Kadim Sebil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Rito Encina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kadim Sebil struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magallanes. 79 minutes into the game, Magallanes's Kadim Sebil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The Magallanes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
