Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermengildo Maura in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Genílson Loyola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 14 minutes into the match, Chupingo el Pame's goal looked a bit too open when Benicio Loiola came free, but Russ Schultz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 17 minutes, Gaudencio Oalo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chupingo el Pame's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaudencio Oalo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Genílson Loyola was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Russ Schultz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Loiola in the 53rd minute of the match. Genílson Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hipolito Ignado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 played minutes Chupingo el Pame got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Loren.
