The referee ignored Austria's protests and gave Sandro Galishoff a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of invictus booed when Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Galishoff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandro Galishoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Sérgio Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marvin Harrer kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Raí de Moraes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Austria's Fabio Auer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Austria from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Iuri Sarmento took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Fabio Auer to make any attempt to save it. Fabio Schneider hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the game, Fabio Schneider cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Sérgio Cearense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Raí de Moraes made the kick off in the second half. If Marvin Harrer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Schneider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Cearense having to interfere. Serafim Mattos's late challenge caught a Austria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafim Mattos helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Raí de Moraes put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fabio Auer. If Walmyr Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 played minutes invictus got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Velasco.
