But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lars Meesters couldn't finish the play. Sungur Pala could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 18th minute of play forced Mount Oliver AFC's goalkeeper Ruperto Iraunkor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Mehdi Kaci Said shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 24 minutes Mount Oliver AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Gijsbert ter Kruimer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mount Oliver AFC's Ruperto Iraunkor did a great save. In the 26th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Iraunkor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruperto Iraunkor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Eikelkamp in the 30th minute of the match. David Eikelkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Iraunkor having to interfere. The supporters of Mount Oliver AFC booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Eikelkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruperto Iraunkor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Di Pasquale in the 46th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the game, Armando Di Pasquale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute Alonzo Cayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruperto Iraunkor made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. The Mount Oliver AFC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
