Carno FK's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Portugal. When Şenel Rafet came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Carno FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Şenel Rafet couldn't finish the play. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victoro Soto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Hayrullah İrfanoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 33rd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Carno FK's Hayrullah İrfanoğlu. Hayrullah İrfanoğlu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 42nd minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 44th minute, Caetano Moreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. Raul Caetano lost his temper 55 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 55th minute, one of Portugal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Portugal. Şenel Rafet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carno FK's Porfirio Olarte got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sven Vollander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alper Beyhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sven Vollander's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Despite being the better team, Carno FK failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
