Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Viriato Moura made the kick off which started today's match. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Ronan Mistral tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 3 minutes, Augusto Cordario managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velez Sarsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Cordario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augusto Cordario took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Barreto in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erwin Huygens saved Velez Sarsfield from getting behind. Erwin Huygens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erwin Huygens having to make a save. Erwin Huygens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 21st minute of the match. Velez Sarsfield's Ando Averin quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 40th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Erwin Huygens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viriato Moura received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erwin Huygens came out and tried to block the shot, but Viriato Moura slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 67th minute. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. In the 72nd minute Bartolomeu Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erwin Huygens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erwin Huygens was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Caetano Moreira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Caetano Moreira really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Velez Sarsfield's Erwin Huygens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 76th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Augusto Cordario left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Velez Sarsfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 84th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Almeida to maneuver through the defense. When Augusto Cordario came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Velez Sarsfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Cordario couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Augusto Cordario kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. 93 minutes into the game, Ago Tramp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velez Sarsfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portugal the free kick. Portugal's Camilo Costa was substituted for Caetano Moreira. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ago Tramp hit a great ball.
