With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zbyszko Kempski in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. Klaas Dejonghe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 45th minute of play. Wariatów Kupa's Klaas Dejonghe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
