When Faas Wilkes came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Vykans Vikingar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faas Wilkes couldn't finish the play. Jose Indalecio might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jose Indalecio ran back to his position shaking his head. When Alessandro Micucci came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Vykans Vikingar fans jumped to their feet. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faas Wilkes in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Alessandro Micucci had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alessandro Micucci was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Vykans Vikingar from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Jose Indalecio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vykans Vikingar's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Indalecio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Portugal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felipe Barreto in the 21st minute. Felipe Barreto struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Marcus Ekrot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. 27 minutes into the game, Felipe Barreto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcus Ekrot. Felipe Barreto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Daniel Pimentel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Marcus Ekrot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Faas Wilkes in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faas Wilkes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faas Wilkes in the 34th minute of the match. Marcus Ekrot made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Daniel Pimentel sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Daniel Pimentel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Pimentel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Ekrot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcus Ekrot made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Viriato Moura sent off a good shot on target. Marcus Ekrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vykans Vikingar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Felipe Barreto was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Portugal's Graciano Coutinho getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Jose Indalecio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vykans Vikingar's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Indalecio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Faas Wilkes was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Alessandro Micucci had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Raul Caetano hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Vykans Vikingar's Faas Wilkes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. The supporters of Portugal booed when Vykans Vikingar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Mutumba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Vykans Vikingar's Jose Indalecio. But to his dismay, Jose Indalecio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Faas Wilkes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Eric Van Lint kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. After 77 minutes, Eric Van Lint mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vykans Vikingar and the Portugal players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Vykans Vikingar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Van Lint to maneuver through the defense. Faas Wilkes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. 86 minutes into the game, Faas Wilkes lined in a short shot 2-7 behind a frustrated Wilson Amorim. Martin Mutumba might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martin Mutumba ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 96 minutes, Alessandro Micucci managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vykans Vikingar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Micucci was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
