Jiang Zhen Qiang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 15th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, STORMTROOPERS ON GRASS's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Jiang Zhen Qiang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacy Banach in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 38th minute of play forced STORMTROOPERS ON GRASS's goalkeeper Jiang Zhen Qiang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd match minute, STORMTROOPERS ON GRASS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacek Ligas to maneuver through the defense. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacy Banach in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ignacy Banach stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Jiang Zhen Qiang threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jiang Zhen Qiang was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 53 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jiang Zhen Qiang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
