Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alex Mansilha started the match with the kick off. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Mansilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Academica Pulheim's Alex Mansilha in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Spain's goalie prevented a goal. Reinhard Baum hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Spain's Gabriel Ascaso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Ahrem in the 15th minute of play. Paul Heyckendorf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Spain's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Omar Toledo in the 20th minute. A very nice done corner allowed Enrique Rabellino to score against Paul Heyckendorf in Academica Pulheim's goal. 1-0 after 21 minutes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Mansilha in the 27th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Mansilha came free, but Gabriel Ascaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Gary Lineker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Vicente Merino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Omar Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Paul Heyckendorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Omar Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paul Heyckendorf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Omar Toledo in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Omar Toledo made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Spain's Enrique Rabellino got a free kick in the 54th minute. Paul Heyckendorf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Aranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 62 minutes of play, Academica Pulheim's Alex Mansilha made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gabriel Ascaso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Zbigniew Setara replaced Joachim Kretschmer. Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Paul Heyckendorf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Aranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Academica Pulheim's Maxime Vrints got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zbigniew Setara. Spain's Sergio Ruiz was substituted for Adria Bielsa. Paul Heyckendorf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Ruiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergio Ruiz in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paul Heyckendorf prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Academica Pulheim's Paul Heyckendorf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pau Herrero in the 87th minute of play. If Maxime Vrints had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paul Heyckendorf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carles Cherro, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Spain were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Academica Pulheim's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jon Cubero took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Pau Herrero got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paul Heyckendorf quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
