The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Michal Jehlička struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. In the 8th minute Anton Donose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michal Jehlička in the 10th minute of play. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Hong Qing proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Lea Papá from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Club Atlético Lea Papá's Hong Qing. Hong Qing was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 18thth minute of the game Michal Jehlička who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anton Donose hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Hong Qing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Anton Donose ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Hong Qing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Eikelkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvar Ponce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Alan Marinelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Marinelli in the 28th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michal Jehlička in the 31st minute of play. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Club Atlético Lea Papá's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 41st minute of the match Club Atlético Lea Papá got a corner. Netherlands's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Raúl Gordillo ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 42nd minute, Celso Barrientos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hong Qing. Hong Qing dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Honorio Endira was substituted for Gao Chuan. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Club Atlético Lea Papá's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. In the 63rd minute Anton Donose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raúl Gordillo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Lea Papá's Alvar Ponce nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Cuevas in the 75th minute of the match. Egbert Nijveldt hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute of the match, Anton Donose tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 84th minute Club Atlético Lea Papá were awarded a corner. Raúl Gordillo went to the cornerflag to take it. Raúl Gordillo made a great header on Club Atlético Lea Papá's corner, it was just that Netherlands's Arnout Reekers managed to reach the ball for a save. 86 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Lea Papá's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Hong Qing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo-Pedro Poy in the 90th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Aldo-Pedro Poy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game.
