Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Mauro Primeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ovidiu Adrian. Poli Timisoara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Primeiro in the 12th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. In the 20th minute Tiger De Hond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Meesters took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ovidiu Adrian. Ovidiu Adrian dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 26th minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Ovidiu Adrian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Mauro Primeiro notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiger De Hond in the 41st minute. After 42 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Mathijn Doctor. 43 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's Horst-Peter Unterberger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnout Reekers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of Netherlands:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Poli Timisoara:s goal. Arnout Reekers went to the wrong direction when Adib Ovi was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 54 minutes, Ovidiu Bal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poli Timisoara and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th minute, Ovidiu Bal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidiu Adrian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartosz Erland in the 62nd minute of play. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Eikelkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiger De Hond in the 73rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Poli Timisoara from getting a goal against them. After 77 minutes of play, Poli Timisoara's Çağdaş Yuvakuran made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Wim Wilmes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ovidiu Adrian quite easily take care of the ball. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 84th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Poli Timisoara's goalie and right to David Eikelkamp. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Poli Timisoara's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a little luck, Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ovidiu Adrian could save by the left post. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartosz Erland in the 91st minute of play. Ovidiu Adrian came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Ovidiu Adrian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
