Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Primeiro in the 5th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Primeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wim Wilmes scored 1-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ovidiu Adrian, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mauro Primeiro took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 21 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Bartosz Erland came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 minutes Netherlands's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Horst-Peter Unterberger who took care of the corner kick. Poli Timisoara's Horst-Peter Unterberger was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnout Reekers in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 25th minute, Çağdaş Yuvakuran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ovidiu Adrian firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ovidiu Adrian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Eikelkamp in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ovidiu Adrian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 33rd minute. 37 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Ovidiu Adrian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauro Primeiro made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Ovidiu Adrian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Poli Timisoara's Mauro Primeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Çağdaş Yuvakuran sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Eikelkamp in the 62nd minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vilhelm Larsson hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidiu Adrian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathijn Doctor to maneuver through the defense. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Horst-Peter Unterberger sent off a good shot on target. 68 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Ovidiu Adrian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Poli Timisoara's Bartosz Erland got a free kick in the 74th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauro Primeiro got free with Arnout Reekers in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 77 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ovidiu Adrian was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Poli Timisoara's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ovidiu Adrian came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute Bartosz Erland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidiu Bal charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ovidiu Bal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Poli Timisoara getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Ovidiu Bal hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Poli Timisoara getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Sascha Kulovitz hit a great ball. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 95th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Poli Timisoara walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
