Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Guga Trancoso made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 2nd minute, Guga Trancoso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PIAUÍ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 7 minutes into the game, Felipe Barreto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Serginho Nogueira. Felipe Barreto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Gilvan Azevedo made in the 15th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Portugal's Graciano Coutinho. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guga Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute of the match PIAUÍ FC got a corner. Portugal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Demis Katsarolidis ran over to the corner to take the kick. 24 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Freitas came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Demis Katsarolidis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 39 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Nogueira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. The crowd rose to their feet as Felipe Barreto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Serginho Nogueira. That made the score 2-2 in the 41 minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Bastos to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see PIAUÍ FC's Demis Katsarolidis in action when he in the 46th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance!

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. Serginho Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. PIAUÍ FC's Serginho Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 53rd minute of play. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Juninho Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 55 played minutes PIAUÍ FC got a freekick which was hit by Guga Trancoso. Serginho Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Fabricio Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Serginho Nogueira. PIAUÍ FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabricio Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Baturhan Oytun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 66th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Juninho Freitas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. After 73 minutes, Baturhan Oytun made it 3-5 with a short kick to the right side. Portugal's Wilson Amorim tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th minute, Mete Gøl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Víktor Santos came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Guga Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guga Trancoso in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. In the 91st minute, Guga Trancoso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PIAUÍ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-6. PIAUÍ FC played a much better game than Portugal and deserved their victory. The Portugal players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
