Ranelagh F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Amador Vigil in the 6th minute. A nice corner shot did that Amador Vigil got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnout Reekers quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Ranelagh F.C. booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Eikelkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Eusebio Mattin came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ranelagh F.C.'s zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Behe came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armando Aznar. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebio Mattin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Meesters to maneuver through the defense. Egbert Nijveldt was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 62 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the game, one of Netherlands:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Arnout Reekers went to the wrong direction when Amador Vigil was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 66 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisco Behe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ranelagh F.C. made a substitution. Cirilo Geofredo replaced Eusebio Mattin. Ranelagh F.C.'s Vladimiro Ireno was substituted for Amador Vigil. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Aznar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute of the match Ranelagh F.C. got a corner. Netherlands's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cirilo Geofredo in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. The supporters of Ranelagh F.C. booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert ter Kruimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Netherlands eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
