The coaching staff of Germany protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sven Krakouer had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Club Deportes La Serena booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Krakouer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Albin Holweck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Alejandro Seisdedos having to make a save. After 33 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Malte Schiele. Soso Cheishvili could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. The long shot by Tobías Rocuant in the 37th minute really tested Tommy Kahn's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ermegildo Fazzini scored 3-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ermegildo Fazzini made a kick off. Mirco Milbradt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albin Holweck hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Soso Cheishvili had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Soso Cheishvili was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Soso Cheishvili in the 71st minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Remco van den Bergh came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Soso Cheishvili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albin Holweck kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
